Study after study science is confirming the benefits of mindfulness meditation on our brain activity. Researchers are investigating the issue of brain neuro-plasticity also from the point of view of the practice of this type of meditation.

Our brains change and change year after year as we grow and these changes can change the way we perceive it stress, pain, negative emotions and even our perspective on life.

Research in this regard is increasingly in-depth thanks to the tools that science makes available to monitor the brain and cerebral activity. Researchers are now able to observe whether a constant practice of Mindfulness meditation can affect our brains and in what way.

Uno study published in Psychiatry Research and conducted at Harvard Medical School showed that following a specific Mindfulness meditation program for eight weeks affects the concentration of the Grey matter, on learning processes and the memory and on the regulation of emotions.

A further study conducted at the University of California found that in a group of people who had practiced mindfulness meditation for eight weeks there were better brain connections regarding the areas of sight and sound.

Finally several searches, including one study published in the Journal of Neuroscience, they examined the effects of Mindfulness Meditation on reduction of pain perception.

In general, studies dedicated to Mindfulness confirm its effectiveness in helping people to maintain an emotional state of calm in difficult situations and reduce stress levels. These are encouraging results that allow us to hope for new scientific confirmations for the future.
