Wrinkles? It's all about hydration! Drinking lots of water helps prevent them

The simplest and most natural way to prevent wrinkles or at least reduce them is to hydrate regularly.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Wrinkles, how to avoid the danger of developing infinite furrows on the face? Simply by drinking lots of water. A hallmark of aging, wrinkles don't exactly please everyone (and everyone), but the simplest and most natural way to prevent or at least reduce them would be to hydrate regularly.

This is confirmed by researchers from the University of Southampton and the University of Cape Town in South Africa who, working with colleagues from Stanford University in the United States, applied a biomechanical perspective to understand what causes wrinkles, developing a series of quantitative computer models to create three-dimensional characterizations of skin wrinkles.

From the investigations, therefore, a certainty emerged: wrinkles do not depend so much on facial activity or on the level of collagen, but precisely on theskin hydration.

On the other hand, it seems almost a logical connection since water is one of the main components of our body and the entire well-being of the organism depends on it, I'll be so much water is not only good for a number of factors - it stimulates metabolism, helps you lose weight, helps you cleanse - but it also helps prevent wrinkles.

    A systematic review

The researchers started from the assumption that The moisture levels in our skin play an important role in the development of wrinkles, especially surface micro-wrinkles that can become much deeper, larger and more visible when the outermost layer of the skin - the stratum corneum - an assembly of 10-20 micrometers of dead cells - becomes drier. This can easily occur as a result of drier environmental conditions, such as a heated room or a long plane ride.

The team developed a series of quantitative computer models to create three-dimensional characterizations of skin wrinkles that could help scientists, both in academia and industry, gain a deeper understanding of the conditions that cause certain types of micro-wrinkles. By harnessing the physics-based information from these models, it may be possible for the industry to start early designing innovative longer-term and preventive treatment solutions that could delay and mitigate the effects of aging on our skin, according to scholars.

Wrinkles? It's all about hydration! Drinking lots of water helps prevent them

“The outermost layer of our skin is mainly composed of dead cells bound by lipids - explains Georges Limbert, lead author of the research. In addition to its physiological functions, this very thin layer plays a key role in determining the characteristics of the skin's micro-wrinkles, even in younger people. In practice, by reducing the relative humidity, this outer layer becomes drier and more rigid and when this happens, the micro-wrinkles on the surface of the skin, induced by the actions of the facial muscles such as smiling, become much deeper, larger and more visible "

The solution is therefore to keep the skin hydrated.

In any case, this is the recommendation we always hear to keep ourselves healthy and guarantee general well-being: drink at least a couple of liters of water a day, even if, remember, the amount of water can vary according to numerous factors, such as your health, physical activity and where you live.
