    Heavy metals, as we know, are polluting substances for the environment and consequently also for us. Many people seem worried about this topic when it comes to urban gardens and city horticulture, so much so that long ago we had already dealt with the subject, but often they completely ignore that these metals are enormously present in our life and we are the ones who bring them to us.

Many people seem worried about this topic when it comes to urban gardens and city horticulture, so much so that long ago we had already dealt with the subject, but often completely ignore that these metals are enormously present in our life and we are the ones who bring them to us.

    One among all the lead, present for example in our older fillings or even thealuminum that it is so easily used in many fields, from cooking to medicine to personal care.

    The worst thing about these pollutants is that, penetrating into the cardiovascular and lymphatic system, they reach our organs and our tissues, depositing in them and accumulating.

    Many studies have confirmed one correlation between aluminum metal and the incidence of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzehimer and Parkinson's.

    A good decision then may be to, for the sake of precaution, avoid the use of coffee makers and aluminum pots (opting for the safer stainless steel), avoid using aluminum containers especially for hot food, avoid the use of aluminum foil, avoid the use of deodorants, toothpastes and soaps that contain it (almost all).

    These can be reasonable ways to decrease exposure of our body to this heavy metal.

    But still: choose our purchases wiselyi could help.

    When we do the shopping we prefer glass or paper packaging and we try to avoid coupled like tetra pack, tin cans or packaging in plasticized paper and aluminum, we will do a favor to our health and to the planet considering the impossibility of recycling many of these coupled materials.



    All these are small things, but by combining many small drops the sea is formed, right?

    Another wise choice is that of avoid or minimize packaged and stored products: preferring fresh food is therefore always the best thing.

    If we choose to dine out we prefer not very elaborate dishes and maybe if for work we are forced to dine out we begin to think about bring food from home, not only will this allow us to save money, but above all we will know what we eat and how it was prepared.

    One choice above all? We prefer the glass and stainless steel, we cook our own food and maybe if we love to experiment let's make soap at home, toothpaste and deodorant, it's fun, cheap, ecological and healthy!

    Last but not least, let us remember that i drugs must be used with full knowledge of the facts: a little pain will certainly not kill us on the contrary it will remind us how strong we can be, we resort to them only when it is strictly necessary and if we cannot do without it.

    Too many people take over-the-counter drugs lightly which, let's remember, even if they do not require a prescription, are still drugs.

    Whenever possible, we choose the Phytotherapy and why not, to relieve a stomach ache a nice bottle of hot water is the best way.

    It seems difficult as a message to get across, but once it's worked out in our minds it doesn't seem so foolish anymore.
