With the many varieties of fruit and vegetables you can make excellent flavored waters (detox water). These drinks, which are prepared in a very simple and fast way, exploit the beneficial properties of the active ingredients contained in fruit and vegetables and can therefore have, depending on the version being prepared, different effects: refreshing, draining, detoxifying, etc.

For those who want to promote digestion or have an antioxidant effect, the nutritionist Flavio Pettirossi recommends water flavored with cinnamon and apple. 

How to prepare it 

  • Pour cold water (usually 1 liter) into a jug and add 1 cinnamon stick and 1 or 2 apples.
  • To better release the nutrients present in the apple, it is best to mash it lightly before immersing it in water. 
  • Put the water in the refrigerator for at least 4-5 hours (it can also be left for longer depending on the intensity of the taste we want to obtain).
  • Drink the water directly while also consuming the apple, or filter the drink first.

Detox water with apple and cinnamon is antioxidant and digestive at the same time. In fact, apples contain antioxidants, phytosterols and pectin, a water-soluble fiber that promotes intestinal peristalsis and reduces blood cholesterol levels.
