Here is the recipe for making a turmeric "lemonade" that could help improve your mood and reduce stress and anxiety (but also some weight).

In particular, according to the research conducted in 2015, the curcumin, the active ingredient of the spice note, would be a valuable aid for fight bad mood and stress, managing to reduce the general symptoms of depression and functioning as tranquillizer.

Curcumin, in fact, would be able to increase the amount of the brain chemical, the cerebral neurotrophic factor, or BDNF (from Brain-derived neurotrophic factor), which is a polypeptide present in the mammalian brain belonging to the neurotrophin family. Studies have linked low BDNF levels to depression and a "twitch" of the hippocampus, an area of ​​the brain that oversees memory and learning.

Turmeric lemonade, preparation

It's delicious and will make you feel better in the long run. What it takes to make turmeric lemonade:



  • 5 cups of water
  • 4 tablespoons of freshly grated turmeric root
  • 3 tablespoons of raw honey
  • 2 teaspoons of grated ginger
  • ½ cup of fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup orange juice (optional for flavor)

Preparation

Boil the 5 cups of water and place the grated turmeric and ginger in a container that can hold hot water. Then pour the boiled water into the container. Let the mixture rest for at least 10 minutes, then add the honey that you will mix until it dissolves completely.
Filter the mixture and add the lemon juice and, if you like, some orange juice. After it has cooled down a bit, take a sip and you will feel better!
