Ticket sanitari: some small surgeries so far free will be from now on a payment. With the new essential levels of assistance (Lea), the Ministry of Health has indeed introduced additional tickets with which some previously free surgical services must be paid for.

What is happening? In practice, the 2016 Stability Law establishes that the financing of the new Leas will take place by binding 800 million euros of the current Health Fund, i.e. without additional resources, so that the additional costs of the Leas will be charged to the existing financing, already reduced due to the latest Stability Laws.

In a nutshell, the Lea review will have a economic impact estimated at 771,8 million euros, calculated also taking into account an increase in the tickets paid by citizens per 60 million euro.

This was reported by the CGIL, based on the data of the technical report of the Ministry of Health to the decree on Lea.

About "20 million - explains Stefano Cecconi, Head of Health Policy Cgil - will be obtained from the new tickets deriving from the transfer of some services from the Day Surgery regime to the outpatient one and 40 million from the introduction of new outpatient services".

That is, with the new Lea, various surgical performances which until now were carried out in Day Surgery, and therefore completely free of charge, will be transferred to an outpatient service which implies the payment of the ticket.

These are mostly surgical services ranging from cataracts to carpal tunnel, from hernia to hammer toe, as well as implantation and reconstruction of the lens and arthroscopy and arthroplasty.

On the issue "we had asked for a moratorium and a meeting with the Minister of Health", says Cecconi. But to date nothing has moved yet.
