Are Bach flowers really effective or a myth to dispel? La flower therapy it is an alternative technique that uses flower essences to rebalance some emotions with the possibility of treating in this way not only fears, anxieties and other psychological disorders but also some physical symptoms.

Let's start from the beginning to understand better. Edward Bach was born as a doctor of traditional medicine but, dissatisfied with stopping to treat the symptoms of his patients, at a certain point in his career he approached homeopathic medicine. Still not convinced that I have found a valid technique to help the people who came to him, I start studying plants and flowers, at the same time trying to identify behind the symptoms that appeared to his patients. the psychological motivation that led them to get sick.

Basically the Dr. Bach was trying to understand the emotional causes that generated certain symptoms and its purpose was to restore the lost harmony within the individual. Balance between mind, soul and body is what, according to Bach (but not only), makes us feel good. Instead, anything that upsets the precarious harmony within us, in the long run, can generate problems on a physical level.

Bach spent much of his life in the Welsh countryside in experience the energy of all the plants that surrounded him using the remedies he made on himself, his collaborators and the people who came to him to ask him for help. This led him to group together series of psychological groups that reflected the essence and characteristics of a particular flower.

HOW BACH FLOWERS WORK

We asked Stefania Gangemi, naturopath expert in flower therapy, to better explain how Bach flowers work:

"Bach flowers work on a subtle level, the flower remedy has a certain energy frequency or vibration which acts on the electromagnetic field of those who take it with the aim of rebalancing emotions ".

How long does it take to work?

"The effects of Bach flowers can be seen within a few weeks, generally, the benefits can be confirmed after just one month of use ".

But how did Bach ad associate a particular emotion with every single flower to rebalance?

“Bach has been experimenting with them for years, his great merit was that of having tried them a lot and on so many people. In short made use of a very high number of cases. When out of 100 people, 100 people react in the same way to a flower it cannot be a coincidence. And I want to clarify that he did all this free of charge ”.

Bach then had a chance to testing the remedies on many people and, as Stefania reminds us, the uses of the flowers that she describes in her books are not the fruit of her imagination but of hers decades of experience with people.

DO BACH FLOWERS REALLY WORK?

Many people are satisfied with the results obtained after taking Bach flowers but just as many do not confirm its effectiveness. Flower therapy really works or is necessary, as some believe, be convinced to take an effective remedy to see results?

"First of all it is important to identify the right remedy, if you make a mistake and through the interview you do not understand well the causes underlying the onset of symptoms, the wrong flowers are recommended and nothing happens. The person becomes convinced that flowers don't work. If, on the other hand, the flower is right, something happens energetically and it moves whether you believe it or not. If you are not aware of what is going on in your body, however, you may not even realize it ".

So we can say that the flowers do they work on everyone?

"In reality, as I repeat, they work if you find the right flower (which in the end is the most challenging thing even if it seems easy) and it depends on how "sensitive" the person is to perceive certain changes that occur: some are easy to recognize, others act on a more subtle level so also on the part of the person it takes greater self-awareness ".

We then asked Dr. Gangemi about her personal experience with Bach flowers. Here's what she told us:

“I personally use both Bach and Australian flowers a lot. I have successfully recommended them to many people who wanted to overcome fears, like taking a plane, fear of taking the subway, moments of 'discouragement'. All problems overcome with flowers ".

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE INTERVIEW

We therefore understood that, in order for flowers to do their job well, it is essential that the flower therapist choose the right remedies for the person in front of him. Bach had identified one for each mood: fear, discouragement, etc. The identification of the most suitable flowers, case by case, is done through a long interview.

Florotherapists, herbalists or naturopaths specialized in flower therapy are usually the most suitable professionals to recommend flowers. However, there are also several homeopathic doctors who complement the phytotherapeutic or homeopathic therapies with the use of Bach flowers.

HOW TO HIRE THEM

4 drops

4 times a day

Under the tongue

Away from meals

Very important keep the flower bottles away from computers, PCs, TVs, to prevent the frequency from changing.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Bach flowers have no contraindications and can also be used on children. The advantage over other natural remedies is undoubtedly that it costs nothing to try (or rather, only the cost of the bottle used), in fact at the limit nothing happens but damage cannot be done.

As Dr. Gangemi reminds us, however:

“It is important to point out that Bach flowers can never replace medical therapies of any kind, they can certainly be a valid support but you must always follow the prescribed therapies ".
