He built one by himself, with the help of some friends tree house but with a gem: its own skatepark. Blogger and photographer Foster Huntingdon lived as a “nomad” for a long time, but then decided to putroots, not settling for gray city apartment living. Her dream was life in the open air. So she thought of building a roof for herself, but on a tree, on the family property.

A bit like the Baron Rampante, in 2011 Foster escapes, quits his job in New York and starts traveling with his camper. Thanks to the new life, the man fully understood what it meant to live without a permanent home: reduced expenses, no maintenance of the property and the freedom to pack up and leave whenever he felt like it. But even diehards like him sometimes feel the need to stop and have their own space.

And this is how the author of the book "Home Is Where You Park It", after traveling for 3 years, decided to look at the world from top to bottom, building his own tree house: a double platform equipped with comfort and with a gem, a skatepark.

The house is located in Skamania, Washington state, and it's called The Cinder Cone.

"I really enjoyed living in a small space, like my camper, and a tree house seemed like a good evolution" explains.

The Huntingdon tree house was set up with the help of friends, her mother and her fiance. These are two small spaces, which cover an area of 20sqm. They are positioned on two spruce trees and connected by a walkway. One is Huntingdon's actual nest, the other is for guests.

Today, with the internet, it is possible to work anywhere “I have Wi-Fi here and the internet. And that's all it takes to live and work, so I might be here or in Manhattan but the cheapest way to do what I'm doing is here, ”she explained.

In reality, the tree house conceived in this way is not exactly low cost. Huntingdon estimates that he spent around $ 170 to make his childhood dream come true but, he points out, for the same amount of money he wouldn't have found much in Manhattan.

Created with love and with the participation of family and friends, his new home will not have the luxury of New York lofts but has an idyllic landscape.
