Recycle the plastic bottles to build schools in poor countries. Here is the goal of the project EcoBricks, thanks to which they are created bricks from the recovery of plastic bottles and other non-biodegradable materials.

The idea came from the environmentalist Susan Heisse and in about 6 years it allowed the realization of dthe 60 schools in some of the poorest countries in the world, such as South Africa, Guatemala and the Philippines.

The students themselves are involved in the implementation of the eco-bricks needed to build schools. For example, the experiment started in the Philippines calls for the distribution of informative materials on waste recycling in local schools with instructions to create EcoBricks.

The entire project is headed by the Hug It Forward organization which on its website gradually reports the progress made and publishes images and videos to document its work to support of developing countries.

Thanks to the EcoBricks waste accumulated in landfills is reduced e in the villages and schools are built with insulating materials. In addition, employment is created, even among young people. Not only schools are being built, but also houses, and the association is also working on creating vegetable gardens and eco-villages.

The construction of the schools and the attention to local communities by the association is contributing to iron out social problems and to offer a roof over their heads to a growing population. The project is based both on social integration and on respect for the environment, with the hope that it will be an initiative of value for many poor countries of the world.
