He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himA very tiny, but habitable house. In Paris Kitoko Studio he managed to transform a very small apartment into one habitable house of only 8 square meters. It is a functional and welcoming space, perhaps the smallest in the French capital.
Kioto Studio explains that the apartment will be used in the future by the children of the client who requested the transformation or by an au pair. Do you remember Pozzetto and “The country boy?”. This Tiny House French could represent the modern version of a small single apartment.
A video explains how it was possible for the architects to make the most of small spaces in a functional way. We had already spoken to you several times about the Tiny Houses, small houses where, however, there is no lack of comforts. For example Graham hill, founder of TreeHugger, managed to achieve eight functional spaces in a normal apartment, for example thanks to foldaway bunk beds and a small energy-saving dishwasher.
We also told you about the smallest stackable house in the world, nata a Seattle, where there is no shortage of bedroom, video room with flat screen TV, a kitchen that accommodates 6 people and a toilet with bathtub.
The increase in apartment prices in Paris and the presence of many buildings to renovate pushed Kitoko Studio to accept the challenge. Despite the limited space, the apartment had to be functional for sleeping, cooking, eating and working.
The architects responded with a project reminiscent of a Swiss Army knife. Bed, table, wardrobe, kitchenette and bathroom are completely integrated within a large wardrobe that can be opened or closed according to needs. Each movement changes the perception of space.
Kitoko Studio believes that the need for one unique multifunctional space of small size it was at first sight rather complex to deal with, but in the end this aspect became the real strength of the project. Think about it: a single room in your home could turn into a micro-apartment following the example of the Parisian project.
