Simple but charming, The River Den it is located on the Gatineau River and can be rented on Airbnb. Bonnie, born and raised in this city, has piloted ships with her father since childhood. His passion led him to build a houseboat, a kind of tiny house in the water.

The River Den is a delightful one bohemian house suitable for every season, even in winter: the glazing is double and the windows are insulated and the spaces are heated by an old wood-burning stove.
On the ground floor there is one small kitchen with a sink, the water for washing dishes is taken from the river and filtered, while the bathroom is equipped with a composting toilet. A large round window overlooks the river giving a truly harmonious sight at dawn.

Upstairs is the bedroom which has a steel grill in the floor which allows heat to pass through and warm the space during the winter. But the real gem is there panoramic terrace overlooking the woods. The roof is transformed into a drawbridge thus facilitating the descent to the mainland.
For power supply, the houseboat uses a marine battery that lasts a month but Bonnie is already making the first changes to install some solar panels and turn The River Den into a place 100% sustainable.
In addition to sleeping there, it is possible to rent them to organize parties or take a simple ride on an alternative boat.
