The house of windows. A year ago, Nick Olson and Lilah Horwitz they left their jobs to devote themselves to the realization of their dream: build a cabin in the mountains, in West Virginia. Today, their bet seems to have paid off: the house is located in the exact spot where they had decided to build it.
But, above all, it is built with recycled materials saved from the landfill, with a very original facade made entirely with windows. While old wooden furniture and more modern decorations are on display inside, in fact, the front wall was built by putting together old recycled windows, which offer wonderful glimpses of sunrises and sunsets in the woods through their windows.
In this way, the couple managed not only to be good for the environment, but also to obtain a lot of natural light, reducing the need for artificial sources to illuminate the interiors.
Their project became the protagonist of a beautiful video made by Filmmakers Matt Glass and Jordan Wayne of Half Cut Tea.
It all started with a trip through Pennsylvania where they have collected dozens of old windows coming from the sale of boxes or from antique shops.
A few weeks later they brought everything they needed to their chosen location to build their only home in the woods. The rest of the structure was made with recycled wood, furniture is period and an old wood stove, to warm up during the harsh winter in this romantic love nest.
