A team from Brightfield group and HelloMD medical site (which deals with the use of marijuana for curative purposes), took a sample of 2.400 people from its community of about 150 members to analyze their relationship with CBD products and evaluate the results obtained. It turned out that 42% of people used cannabidiol in different forms for their health problems and that they had definitively put aside traditional drugs.
Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive compoundo of Cannabis Sativa, this means that it does not give those who take it that feeling of euphoria very known to those who smoke marijuana and which instead derives from the active ingredient called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Contrary to the common belief that men are the main cannabis user, this survey found that 55% of users of CBD products are actually women, men prefer THC products.
“We are seeing an exponential increase in the interest of CBD products in our patient community, particularly among women. While we still have a lot to learn about CBD, we can't ignore this fact: most of those who use CBD products are receiving great benefits today. This has the potential for far-reaching consequences, ”said Dr. Perry Solomon, Chief Medical Officer of HelloMD.
The most common conditions treated by cannabis drugs are insomnia, depression, anxiety and joint pain. 80% of patients who have used it consider CBD products "very or extremely effective", while only 3% found them "ineffective or only slightly effective".
As already mentioned, women represent those who appreciate the new cannabinoid-based products the most (58% of which 33% are between the ages of 35 and 49). The most popular method of consuming cannabinoids is vaporization (in this way the effects are more immediate) followed by smoking and then by the edible variants. Patients also reported spending $ 20 to $ 80 per month to purchase CBD products.
