The withdrawn porchetta is produced by FA.LU.CIOLI right in Ariccia, in via delle Cerquette. However, the recall does not concern all the lots but only those vacuum packed of 150 gr marked with the number 021017 and with expiry date 31 December 2017.
In accordance to reported from the Ministry, the RL32ATT17 alert system of 6 November 2017 detected the presence of Listeria monocytogenes on the sample analyzed. For this it was necessary to recall the product.
Consuming it could cause the listeriosis, particularly dangerous for pregnant women. Symptoms are similar to those of acute febrile gastroenteritis with fatigue and pain.
Immuno-compromised adults and the elderly are also at risk. In these cases, listeriosis can cause meningitis, encephalitis, severe septicemia.
