Listeria in salami. The Ministry of Health recalled the batch of a product because it could be contaminated by the bacterium, responsible for listeriosis.
New food alert from the ministerial authorities who have withdrawn a batch of salami from the market. This is the Casareccia produced by Savelli Salumi e Carni srl in Norcia.
According to the Ministry, this cured meat could be contaminated by the bacterium Listeria Monocytogenes, responsible for a series of gastrointestinal disorders. In particular, the recalled lot is n ° 192/20 with expiry date 14/11/2020 and with various sizes.
As explained by the National Institute of Health
“Listeriosis can take on various clinical forms, from acute febrile gastroenteritis more typical of food poisoning, which occurs within a few hours of ingestion (and is self-limiting in healthy subjects), to invasive or systemic. Pregnant women usually experience a flu-like syndrome with fever and other non-specific symptoms, such as fatigue and aches. However, infections acquired during pregnancy can have serious consequences for the fetus (fetal death, abortion, premature birth, or congenital listeriosis). In immuno-compromised and elderly adults, listeriosis can cause meningitis, encephalitis, severe septicemia. These clinical manifestations are treatable with antibiotics, but the prognosis in severe cases is often poor ".
If you bought it, avoid consuming it and bring it back to the point of sale for an exchange or refund.
