It's not a camping tent nor a new playground attraction. In this case, to have a tent wheel for a friend who responds to the name of Wheelly, are the homeless. Yes, in short, the homeless, the homeless, the homeless, the homeless - the name varies, but the category is, unfortunately, always the same - now they can bring along a colorful, bizarre and ecological "makeshift shelter", as defined by those who designed it, the Zo loft architecture & design.

Made of aluminum, pressed cardboard, rubber, resin-coated polyester and neoprene, all rigorously designed with recycled and 100% recyclable materials, Wheelly was presented at the2009 edition of Well-Tech di Milan, the annual international award atTechnological innovation set up on the occasion of Furniture expo.

Wheelly, the ecological portable home for the homelessBorn with the noble intention of "reintegrating the figure of the homeless man in the socio-economic context of the city", this singular and somewhat curious devilry really aims to satisfy all the requirements of mobility, protection and transport. The parent company, in fact, explains that, precisely for these reasons, the aluminum frame, whose diameter is 150 centimeters, it is released from the movement of the tires in contact with the ground, through a system of roller bearings in pressed cardboard.

Thus, the luggage contained in a 250-liter bag remains immobile in the metal body during its movement. And, once you have decided where to temporarily settle down, the module handlebar transforms into a “stand” blocking and stabilizing the trolley.

The resin-coated polyester and metal tents contained in the frame are freed from the safety interlocking and descend to form the shelter, which thus remains isolated from the ground through a neoprene disc that guarantees protection from water and cold.

And if, during the night, the tent acts as a decent shelter and gives back a little bit of privacy, during the day it can be easily converted into sitting o stall.

Last gem: at the ends of the trolley there are two circular rubber elements on which it is possible to place a logo or brand. By doing so, it will be possible self-finance with the proceeds from sponsorship, reducing the production costs of the trolley or even making it free to the homeless, becoming advertising vehicles in the city. How to say ... brilliant!
