It doesn't take a lot of time or money. To set up a house it is enough 4 hours and £ 10.500, about 12 thousand euros. Word of Mike Page who devised his own QB2, a sustainable and low-cost three-story cube house.
Looking at it from the outside, the house is a small cube characterized by aheight of 3 meters it's a width of 4. According to its creator, it takes a few hours to set it up, roughly the same as an Ikea bookstore. Once completed, the house can accommodate two people inside. Impossible, you will say. Something will be missing. Wrong, there is everything: kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom and spiral staircase that becomes a library.
More specifically, del Cube Project there is a fully functional kitchen with hob, fridge with freezer, combined microwave oven. There is also a dining table that can be raised if necessary to make room for a four-seater sofa. The living room with two-seater sofa and two poufs for the relaxation area can be transformed into a dining room for 4 people.
All in the name of sustainability and energy saving, starting fromLED lighting and low energy consumption appliances powered by photovoltaic panels installed on the roof. To enrich QB2 a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system.
"It takes about four hours to put the cube together, but it takes more time when adding more furniture, but it also depends on how fast you work" explains Page. “Most of the furniture inside is Ikea”.
According to its creator, the cube-house it is to all intents and purposes a normal home but from the reduced size. The QB2 will be available for the market starting next year starting from a base cost of 10.500 pounds up to the richer version, the cost of which does not exceed 45.000 pounds.
