In emergency situations, one of the priorities after rescuing people is to offer them a temporary shelter. A system that is easy to set up, comfortable and inexpensive. It doesn't exist, you may be thinking. Instead it exists and is the result of the young entrepreneur's work 24enne Alastair Pryor. His idea, now close to sale, already has a name: Compact Shelter.

In many respects similar to a camping tent, Compact Shelter is easy to ship, move and assemble due to its low weight, just 15 kg. All important features when racing against the clock to offer a emergency shelter.

La tent folding, before being mounted, it looks like one thick sheet of cardboard. Only one person, given his own, is enough for assembly modular structure. Its ends must be widened one at a time, starting from the extension in height and then moving gradually to open the wings, or the sides of the tent. When fully open, it measures 2 meters on each side and can offer shelter for two adults and two children. However, thanks to its modular structure, the individual units can be joined together to create larger shelters or more rooms, depending on the number of family members requiring shelter.

Compact Shelter is made of UV stabilized polypropylene, a material resistant over time and thermally insulating. After passing rigorous tests by various humanitarian organizations, the pop-up tent proved to be suitable even for extreme weather conditions. Pryor designed the tent by arranging various manually operated vents so that cold air can enter through the base and warm air can escape, further adapting the shelter to all types of weather.

The idea came to Pryor after observing the uncomfortable life of homeless people, who every day fold up the cartons they sleep on. So, he tried to think of a solution to be folded every day to be transported as if it were a box.
