Wind power. Clean sources save money. Also on taxes: in Tula, a small village in the province of Sassari, the energy produced thanks to the wind has allowed citizens not to pay theIMU.

Blown away by the force of the wind, the infamous house tax will not burden the pockets of the 1600 inhabitants of Tula. And all thanks to revenues that the Municipality obtains through its wind farm.

On the mountains of Sa Turrina Manna (The big tower), 5 kilometers from Tula and the same number from Erula, stands the namesake wind farm, which has a capacity of 90 MW, and is capable of supplying the electricity needs of approximately 65 households. And today it is at its best.

But the green soul of Tula is, however, expanding. Now the municipality is focusing on solar thermal. "We give a contribution of 45% to those who install solar panels to heat the water in the house: do you spend 5 thousand euros? The Municipality gives you 2.250 “, concludes the mayor. “Our municipality is small, but let's try to think big. How many houses in Rome could have hot water heated with solar energy? ".

Mayor, Andrea Becca, he told al Courier his projects and those of the municipal council of the small Sardinian town in favor of clean energy: “Tula has accepted a bet: to believe in renewable energy. The previous council had already started the wind farm, which today represents the 12-13% of municipal income”Explains the mayor. “From wind we collect 400 euros a year, out of a balance sheet of 3.200.000. We have all invested that income in social and environmental policies, but this year we have looked at each other and thought about how to save families. Since the law allowed it, after taking a look at the cadastral income, we reduced the rate from 4 to 2 per thousand and at the same time increased the deduction on the Imu from 200 to 400 euros to be added to the deductions for children to charge for 50 euros for each child. In this way we have neutralized theIMU".

After all, the Common has managed not to make its inhabitants spend the onerous sum, thanks to the income obtained from wind farm. But in Tula they are not satisfied. After having experienced that renewable energies, in addition to being good for the environment, help to make ends meet, the Municipality will focus on solar thermal: “We give a contribution of 45% to those who install solar panels to heat their home water: do you spend 5 euros? The Municipality gives you 2.250 “. A great example, don't you think?
