From refrigerators to photovoltaic panels: the good example of Scandicci

If yesterday in Scandicci there was a refrigerator factory, which was called Electrolux, from tomorrow there will be one (which in the same factories) will produce photovoltaic panels, and will be called Sol Energes-Energia Futura (Mercatech group).

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Winning the economic crisis by recycling. Plants, structures but also people. If yesterday there was one in Scandicci refrigerator factory, which was called Electrolux, from tomorrow there will be one (which in the same factories) will produce photovoltaic panels, and will be called Sol Energes-Future Energy (Mercatech group).

It rarely happens, especially in our slightly backward country, but sometimes - green - dreams come true. The ex-Electolux of Scandicci (Florence) which previously produced household appliances that consumed a lot of energy, from tomorrow will produce panels to generate clean energy, which is not bad for the environment.

But that's not all: what will become of all those workers who for years have assembled refrigerators for the Swedish multinational? Happy to save their jobs, they will be "recycled" too. For a couple of weeks the first 90 workers (for a total of 370 people) have returned to the benches to prey ecology lessons.

The training course programs (financed by the Region and Province) have a part common to all workers and another more specific according to the different tasks and roles. Most of the former Electrolux employees will be re-employed by Energia Futura in the same factories where previously household appliances were assembled. From 4st May a first group of workers will start the production of the photovoltaic panels and a second group will start the 15nd June.

Coma analyzed the newspaper The nation, Energia Futura today, also thanks to alliances with strategic partners, produces energy for 1.473.000 families against an investment of almost one billion euros. Its plants produce clean energy such as that which would produce 2.170.000 barrels of oil, about 0,33% of the national energy needs. To be taken for example.
