Plums: origin and characteristics 

The plum is the fruit of the Prunus Domestica, or European plum tree, and is characterized by having one elongated almost oval shape and a sweet and juicy flavor. There are different varieties of plums, each different in the color of the skin, which can be purple, yellow or reddish.

Plum is a food rich in antioxidants, mineral salts and vitamins, and the ideal time of year to consume it is from August to September; in addition to eating it alone or in a rich fresh fruit salad, plums can be used to make delicious jams or dry them, to then consume them throughout the year.
