Responsible drinking: in Friuli at a wine school to pass on the flavors of tradition

    Educating young people to savor and taste traditional foods and wines with awareness. This is the objective of Bere Responsabile, the initiative aimed at young Friulians in the last grades of high school and university, presented on Sunday in Udine at the headquarters of the Region in the presence of the President of the Giunta Renzo Tondo and representatives of numerous associations linked to the protection of tourism, agriculture and the typical cuisine of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

    Designed by Duchy of Friulian wines, the training course which, starting from the assumption that effective results in the culture of drinking are obtained from education and not from prohibition, reaffirms in the classrooms the concept that wine is a food, to be taken in combination with other foods and with "moderation that suits everything", to recover its positive value and to sensitize among young people a careful consumption and in full respect of traditions.

    Safeguarding of health, promotion of the territory e strengthening of ties with one's own history: these are the three significant elements of the project which, as also underlined by the President of the Tondo Region, "helps to pass on to young people peculiar elements of our tradition and of the territory, so that they can identify and assimilate the right balance between the natural expectations of taste and the risks deriving from excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages. And they know how to choose how and to what extent to taste. Unfortunately, in fact, it happens that, in the absence of a conscious drinking education, wine is combined with the intake of substances that cause the so-called 'high' ”.

Because the dishes and wines, concluded Tondo, “are one of the elements of tradition that are handed down from generation to generation. They are therefore an integral part of the local culture and are often identified as examples of the lifestyle habits of each people ".



    A theoretical lessons, they will be matched as well sensory tests led by wine technicians and sommeliers. Furthermore, to speak to young people through their peculiar language, testimonials will also be sought among sports and entertainment personalities.
