If your dream is to sleep among the trees in a hammock made of plants, thanks to Naturalise you can make it happen. A design object conceived for the “I See Colors Everywhere” exhibition at the Milan Triennale, during the Fashion Week.
Naturalise is a hammock that uses plants as the main material to create a living fabric. The hammock is part of a larger research project aimed at creating everyday products that are far from the throwaway philosophy and have a much longer lifespan. In this way we avoid the production of waste, using the objects for many years.
The hammock in question is a living creature, in need of care, made by intertwining shrubs and greenery.
“We are very used to short-lived objects. We replace instead of repair. We have been taught that recycling is good, when the real solution is only to reduce and not produce waste. We are abusing our limited resources, we are infinitely polluting our planet " has explained Garmendia.
According to the artist, nature is the great inspiration for infinite solutions, hence the idea of exploiting the many potentialities of plants, with characteristics
"Structural and functional still to be applied, even when they are alive".
