Beware of some supplements that are on the market. In particular, two products, also sold on the web, contain substances that are prohibited and harmful to our health. This was ascertained by the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Health, which reported, through the European alert system for food and feed - RASFF, the presence of Sildenafil, the active ingredient of viagra,
This substance with pharmacological activity is not allowed in food supplements. It is a type 5 phosphodiesterase inhibitor used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction and impotence.
According to the press release published by the Ministry of Health, there are two products reported, both produced in the United Kingdom by the company Unlimited OA OA LTD, international house: 24 Holborn Viaduct, London EC 1A 2BN, and sold by the Spanish broker Green Box supplements, L. Carlos Cano 9961, 29010 Malaga:
- FORZAPIU, extra strong formula, pack of 4 capsules: lot 779296438 and expiry date 03/2022
- MAX POWER, ginseng complex, pack of 4 capsules: lot 4589136 and expiration date 10/2022.
The presence of Sildenafil, as anticipated, was detected through Rasff, Europe's rapid alert sietam and was reported by the NAS following an operation coordinated by Europol precisely against the sale of food supplements containing this substance.
