    Ingredients (doses for 4 people)

    • 250g of wholemeal flour
    • 2 tablespoons of cocoa
    • ¾ teaspoon of baking powder
    • a pinch of salt
    • 150g butter
    • 2 teaspoons of ginger chopped
    • ½ teaspoon of cloves
    • ½ teaspoon of nutmeg
    • 100g of brown sugar
    • 25g of honey
    • 1 egg
    • icing sugar

    Preparation

Before starting to knead, sift the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt into a bowl. We beat the egg adding the sugar and pour it all into the bowl. We mix well. Then in a saucepan, over low heat, melt the butter with the spices and add the honey. Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

As soon as the butter has cooled slightly, add it to the flour and the other ingredients in the bowl. We mix very well, after having mixed everything, we transfer the dough onto a support surface. We knead by hand until a soft smooth dough is obtained.

Let it rest in the fridge for half an hour. After the necessary time, roll out the dough with a rolling pin, until a layer of at least 1 cm is obtained.

Now with the help of cake molds (Christmas shapes would be perfect) let's start cutting the cookies (alternatively you can use glasses or cups).

In the meantime we heat the oven to 180 °, and when it is nice hot we bake our ginger biscuits for about 15-20, until they acquire a nice golden color.

Once cooked we sprinkle them with powdered sugar (if you prefer you can indulge yourself with the decorations of sugar, chocolate, etc. of your choice).
