Anti-abandonment seats: 30 euro bonus for those who have to buy them (but only for the fastest ones)

As everyone knows by now, it has become mandatory for those who drive children up to 4 years of age to equip themselves with anti-abandonment seats or similar devices. The government provides a bonus for families who have to buy them but the contribution is very small and not everyone will be able to get it (only the fastest).

As everyone knows by now, it has become mandatory for those who drive children up to 4 years of age to equip themselves with anti-abandonment seats or similar devices. The government provides a bonus for families who have to buy them but the contribution is very small and not everyone will be able to get it (only the fastest).

A contribution has been made for families who must equip themselves with anti-abandonment devices for cars. 15,1 million euros have been allocated for 2019 and one million in 2020.

It might seem like a lot but, considering how many families are affected by the new obligation, in reality it is very little and the contribution is realized in only 30 euros which will not even be guaranteed to everyone (the bonus is provided only until resources are exhausted). The Codacons called it "an alms", considering that the device will cost between 50 and 100 euros and much more if you choose to buy a seat with an integrated device (HERE all the features they must have).

Only a lucky few, according to the calculations of the consumers' association, will be able to get the bonus. This is about half a million families out of the nearly two million that will have to buy the new device. All the others will be forced to provide fully from their own pockets and, unfortunately, families cannot always afford a purchase like this which, according to Codacons, should be free (given that it is a life-saving device).

The most absurd thing, then, is that probably it will not be those who need it most to get the bonus, i.e. low-income families or those who have more children, but who will be faster to request it!

Le how to obtain the incentive will be announced in the next few days, as will be clarified, when the decree finally appears in the Official Gazette, if the obligation will start immediately in 2019 or will be postponed at the beginning of 2020 (the first hypothesis is more inclined).

If the bonus were confirmed only for the fastest in requesting it, then it would not be surprising if some families will be slow to adapt to the new standard. However, these risk high fines ranging from 81 to 326 euros and, in case of relapse within two years, there is even a suspension of the license from 15 to 60 days.
