The "dependent child bonus" is a one-off allowance for dependent children up to € 240 and a dowry of up to € 400 for each child under the age of three.

Allowances up to 240 euros for children up to the age of majority and a single dowry for the purchase of childcare services up to 400 euros, are the two proposals being examined by the Chamber. The hypothesis is that the Baby Bonuses, the Nursery Vouchers and the Tomorrow Mother Bonuses and anything else are replaced by a one size fits all, the so-called Single check.
In fact, the Social Affairs Commission, expected in the Chamber on October 28, is currently studying the measure called "Dependent Children Bonus", which could already be introduced with the new Budget Law 2020, aimed at strengthening the measures to support of dependent children through the single allowance and the single dowry for services.
According to initial indications, the measure should provide for an economic contribution to families with at least one dependent child from 0 to 26 years.
What is the Dependent Child Bonus
The new dependent child bonus would therefore replace all measures, providing family allowances of varying amounts based on the age of the child:
- 240 euros for twelve months, up to 18 years;
- 80 euros per month, up to the age of 26;
- up to 400 euros per month of single dowry for families with at least one dependent child up to 3 years, for nursery schools, micronids, baby parking and directly appointed staff (babysitter).
Increases of no less than 40% are envisaged for each child with disabilities pursuant to article 3 of law no. 5.
Finally, the measures also provide for a reduced dowry for dependent children after the third year of age and up to the age of 14, increased by at least 40% for children with disabilities. No changes for deductions for dependent spouses and family members.
