The Technical Scientific Committee in the minutes of August 12 specifies that "in any situations in which it is not possible to guarantee the prescribed physical spacing in the performance of school activities, it will be necessary to ensure the availability and use of the mask, preferably of a surgical type".
That is to say that it is possible to attend school even in classrooms that are not adequate to guarantee the minimum distance of 1 meter, as long as with a mask, and by sanitizing the hands and airing and cleaning the premises.
In short, a solution to the lack of suitable spaces for restarting and single-seater benches, which are not enough! In fact, those produced by the companies that have won the contract will not be delivered, it seems, before October.
However, the Cts always specifies that these situations must be corrected as soon as possible. In the meantime, alternative places are being sought to accommodate all those students who will not be able to stay there in the classrooms, having to respect, more or less, the rules of distancing.
The announcement has sparked numerous controversies in the school world because it suggests that nothing is yet ready as it should in view of the back to school scheduled for 14 September.

Antonello Giannelli, president of the Deans' Association, said he was disappointed by the situation, "we thought we were living in a tragedy, and instead it was a comedy: William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing!", Adding:
“We have always respected the opinions of the health authorities and we will continue to do so but we do not understand why this fundamental aspect has not been clarified earlier. The school leaders did not take a single day off to work feverishly so that the pupils could be spaced as planned. Colleagues responded to countless ministerial monitors to communicate all the data relating to classes, classrooms, corridors, gyms, courtyards, buildings several times. And all this why? Because we have been serious and responsible, much more than was obviously necessary ".
