Hope, the sorcerer child saved in Nigeria by a Danish volunteer who then adopted him, turned 6. Today he is healthy and happy
Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerousDo you remember Hope, the 2-year-old boy abandoned in Nigeria by his family because he was considered a sorcerer? He was saved by the Danish volunteer Anja Ringgren Loven, and he just turned 6 years old!
Hope's is a dramatic story which, fortunately, has taken a very different turn thanks to a special woman. We all remember like a punch in the stomach the photos of the 2-year-old boy who, in 2016, wandered undernourished in a village in southern Nigeria, abandoned by his family because he was considered a sorcerer (probably because he suffered from a congenital malformation of the urethra). .

We then gave you an update a few months later, happy to let you know that Hope, subjected to the necessary care and welcomed into her new family, that of the Danish volunteer Anja Ringgren Loven, had recovered completely, was well and was happy.
Hope smiles again: the sorcerer child found undernourished is now fine

Anja on Facebook also posted some wonderful photos of her son David JR, smiling and beautiful, who turned 6 too. Her photo has been confused with Hope's, but it is of another child.
A happy ending for this child who will continue his life healthy, happy and safe from those superstitions and barbaric beliefs that have marginalized him and risked making him die.
However, there remains the tragedy of many other children who are abandoned every year because they are believed to be sorcerers. In Nigeria alone, it is estimated that there are around 15 per year.
