Single check and check to the family unit: can you choose?

Single check and check to the family unit: can you choose?

A question that many are asking themselves since yesterday 1 July it is possible to request the single "provisional" check.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Can I choose between the single allowance and the family unit allowance (ANF)? A question that many are asking since yesterday 1 July it is possible to request the single "provisional" check. Here's what changes, who is entitled to one and who will not be able to request it.

It had been announced for some time, it also caused discussions due to the amounts not as high as expected but the single check has finally arrived and although it may not satisfy the needs of families, it is a reality. However, there are some doubts that parents are asking. One among all: who enjoys the allowances to the ANF family unit will be able to request the single allowance?

The answer is provided by INPS. The Institute was very clear on this and explained:

From next 1 July and until 31 December 2021 it will be possible to submit an application for the new support measure for families with dependent minor children who are not entitled to the Allowance for the Family Unit (ANF) pursuant to law no. 153 of 1988.

This means that those who today receive family allowances, ie employees, will not be able to take advantage of the single allowance. Inps explains that the recipients of the measure are in fact:

  • self-employed;
  • unemployed;
  • direct farmers, settlers and sharecroppers;
  • holders of a self-employed pension;
  • nuclei that do not have one or more requirements to enjoy the ANF.

It should be remembered that the temporary allowance will be recognized on the basis of the requirements of citizenship, residence and domicile with the dependent child and will be paid according to the number of children and decreasing as the level of ISEE increases.

How to apply for a single check (provisional)

The application can be submitted only once for each child by 31 December 2021 by:

  • the INPS web portal, by accessing with a PIN or Spid or an electronic identity card 3.0 (CIE), or a National Services Card (CNS);
  • the Integrated Contact Center, by calling the toll-free number 803.164 (free from a landline) or the number 06 164.164 (from a paid mobile network, based on the rate applied by the various operators);
  • the Institutes of patronage.
