Smog: here is the anti-pollution T-shirt

In fact, the two young researchers, taking a cue from the famous Hypercolor clothing line, invented the revolutionary Antismog T-Shirt: a t-shirt that changes color when exposed to pollutants such as car exhaust gases, fine dust or even simply smoke. of cigarettes.

Even if we are not talking about eco-fashion, two students of the NYU, the main university of the city of New York, Nien Lam and Sue Ng, have managed, with a lot of style and creativity, to combine the concept of fashion to that of pollution with the aim of making us aware of how harmful the air we breathe actually is.

The two young researchers, in fact, taking a cue from the famous clothing line Hypercolor they invented the revolutionary T-Shirt Antismog: a shirt that changes color when exposed to pollutants such as car exhaust gases, fine dust or even just cigarette smoke.

On the two T-shirt prototypes in which a pink heart and lungs are represented above, gods have been installed sensors who can perceive the air quality and which, consequently, change color according to the amount of pollution present: if the color of the organ remains pink it means that the air is pure, if it turns blue, on the contrary, the air is highly polluted. What triggers the electrical sensor on the shirt is therefore the amount of carbon monoxide present in the surrounding environment, it does not matter that it is due to the gases produced by cars in traffic or that it is emitted by cigarette smoke.

The two young inventors, therefore, with their creation, wanted to send a strong and clear message: according to what he explains Niem Lam“Air pollution cannot be seen but exists, and it is this invisibility that we have decided to bring to light. This shirt is able to warn both us and those around us of the danger we are experiencing "".

Hoping that sooner or later someone will invest in their project, Warning Signs, in whose blog Lam and Ng explain the realization, the two are already working on another shirt, which however detects the amount of alcohol present in the body, and as Ngo says "this time it will be the liver that changes color".
