The road sign that encourages you to walk in a weird way! (VIDEO)

A really curious road sign that appeared on a street in Ojre in Norway and then in Ottawa in Canada, where pedestrians are encouraged to cross in a bizarre way, just like the protagonist of The Ministry of Silly Walks, the sketch of Monty Python's Flying Circus in which John Cleese walks in a totally weird way!

Who does not remember the nice employee of the fictional "Ministry of Strange Walks" who, after leaving a tobacconist's, heads to work with a very special walk and would like the government to help him improve it?

Norwegian and Canadian pedestrians also practice 'silly strolls' as they cross two busy roads on the strips.

In Norway, Reidar Johannes Søby of the Kreativiteket art group actually tells local broadcaster NRK, that the sign installation is just for fun and that there is no deep thought to match it.

It seems less amusing to road safety administrators who would like it removed, but the mayor of Marker Municipality, Kjersti Nythe Nilsen, does not mind the idea, perhaps he has a stronger sense of humor.

“I think cartels should be allowed. They do not cause any nuisance and are very similar to normal pedestrian crossing signs ". And for now she promises they will stay.

    Look at that 'weirdness':

    Here instead the timeless sketch:

In Ottawa, the sign is between the streets of Metcalfe and O'Connor and shows the silhouette of a man walking in an absurdly exaggerated way. Here the idea is from the Sparks Street Authority who wants to bring some fun into the daily monotony.

“We are encouraging people to take a stupid walk,” says executive director Les Gagne. "We are encouraging them to lighten their day and have some fun as they cross the street."
