The Ministry of Ecological Transition has launched a competition for 218 graduates, to be hired for an indefinite period. Here are the profiles sought

The Ministry of Ecological Transition (MiTE) is looking for graduates to be hired with permanent contracts. On 23 June the decree authorizing the MiTE, which has replaced the Ministry of the Environment since 2021, was published in the Official Gazette to recruit 218 graduates with a specialist degree in the various disciplines.





These assumptions will serve "to allow the implementation of ecological transition policies also within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), to support the functions of the PNRR-PNIEC Technical Commission" reads the text of the decree. Furthermore, the work of the new staff will help the ministry, led by Roberto Cingolani, to achieve the decarbonisation and environmental policy objectives undertaken in Europe with the Paris Agreement.

The hires are scheduled for the two-year period 2021-2022. Soon, therefore, the announcement will be published with the public insolvency procedures that can be carried out according to the simplified procedures introduced by the “Containment Covid” decree.

The profiles sought 

As anticipated, the MiTE provides for the recruitment of 218 figures to be hired on an indefinite basis. As stated in the decree, we are looking for "non-managerial personnel with high technical specialization, to be placed in Area III."

To participate in the competition, graduates must have a specialist degree in the following sectors:

  • engineering
  • physics
  • architecture
  • economy
  • biological science
  • chemical sciences
  • geological and geophysical sciences
  • Communication Sciences
  • natural, environmental, agricultural and forestry sciences
  • statistical sciences 
  • informatics

In addition, priority will be given to graduates who have work experience in environmental matters in the public administration.

As clarified in the text of the law decree, 50% of the places are reserved for those who "have carried out, employed by publicly-owned companies, specialist and operational technical support activities in environmental matters at the suppressed Ministry of the Environment, Territory and del mare or at the Ministry of Ecological Transition for at least two years, even if not continuous, in the three years prior to the aforementioned date ".
