How to combine the sedentary of office life with the healthy habits of regular physical activity? They had already tried with the desk with built-in bicycle but what you have already seen in the image is beyond any paradox. A wheel, very similar to that, alas, designed to entertain (so to speak) the hamsters, could be the new "pastime" at work.

Designed to get some exercise in the office thus preventing cardiovascular disease, the questionable wheel also has another purpose: increase productivity from the working point of view since numerous studies have shown that standing is better reasoned than sitting, even better if you walk.

Despite this, in our offices we work mainly at the desk, spending hours on chairs that are not always ergonomic, dealing with tingling in the legs and back pain. The solution is soon said with the project by Robb Godshaw of Artist-in-Residence and Will Doenlen of Instructables.

The wheel would, in their opinion, allow them to walk at their preferred speed while working. Without a desk inside, it might go a little too fast. In the first tests, in fact, the friends of the designers accidentally jumped off the wheel, falling ruinously. One of the few positive notes is that future versions could take advantage of wheel motion for generate electricity and to power phones or laptops.

Furthermore, with a desk inside, the wheel would have more stability. "Once the desk is inside the wheel, it is much easier to control because you would have something to hold on to and something to stop with," has explained Goddshaw. "I think future versions may include some kind of brake."

It suits us well, one might say. Paradoxes of our time in which to get some movement we find ourselves doing what hamsters are forced to do. They are locked in a cage and us?
