Usually coloring books designed for adults not only have artistic purposes but teach the art of relaxing by coloring with crayons and markers black and white images that can still turn into small masterpieces.
A novelty among coloring books comes from Sarah Mangle, an artist living in Montreal. Her new book is packed with positive messages that are presented and conveyed in the form of coloring phrases.
This coloring book, suitable for both children and adults, is called “The Affirmations Coloring Book” and is dedicated to positive affirmations. The Canadian artist made it in six weeks, at a time when she was unable to walk due to a sprained knee.
Sarah Mangle reminds us that coloring is a therapeutic and anti-stress activity which is part of art therapy. In his work he has noticed that positive affirmations, accompanied by the activity of coloring, have beneficial effects for both children and adults.
We can take a cue from this idea if we know how to draw and create a coloring book full of positive affirmations to dedicate to ourselves or to give to a child, to a family member or friend.
"You can do it! Remember to take a break ... "
"Some days are sad ... but you can overcome them one step at a time"
"Positive affirmations, the coloring book"
"Accept yourself as you are"
"Being sick is normal ... but you will soon recover"
The Affirmations Colouring Book consists of 100 pages where the positive affirmations are accompanied by adorable coloring pages. Sarah Mangle's creations, including this new coloring book, are for sale at Etsy.
