And so we should not be surprised if there are those who manage to capture it even in dilapidated and abandoned buildings: like the German photographer Christian Richter, who travels across Europe to immortalize architectural works that are now aged, deserted and neglected, portraying them in all their charm.

And so we should not be surprised if there are those who manage to capture it even in dilapidated and abandoned buildings: like the German photographer Christian Richter, which travels Europe for immortalize architectural works that are now aged, deserted and neglected, portraying them in all their charm.
Self-taught, born in 1979, Richter photographs mostly stairways, palaces, theaters, hospitals, swimming pools, churches and other buildings, all united by being now in ruins, exposed to the wear and tear of time and bad weather, completely left to themselves.
"As a boy, I fell in love with abandoned buildings." - Richter says, motivating his passion - “When I received a camera as a gift, I started photographing the beauty that was in them. I mostly photograph empty buildings with interesting stairs or interiors. "
"Simply" - continues again Richter - “I love aged and decaying architecture, its patterns and textures: they remind me that nothing is permanent. Photographing abandoned architecture is the project I am dedicating myself to and I often travel to Europe in search of abandoned buildings. "
His shots are, at the same time, suggestive and melancholy, fascinating and disturbing, and show the inexorable action of time, which affects everything, transforming it radically.
