Dear bills: this is the appliance that consumes the most and that we should use as little as possible

The consumption of electricity in the home derives for the most part from household appliances: this is what consumes the most

The increase in energy costs is a problem we are all facing in recent weeks, with the arrival of the first bills of the year that are decidedly higher than last year. Much of the electricity consumption depends on which appliances we have in the house and how we use them: one of the appliances that most absorbs energy is the electric oven, with an energy consumption ranging between 1 and 1,5 Kilowatt / hour.

Certainly the oven is necessary for cooking - especially if we want to avoid more fatty and harmful types of cooking, such as frying - but how to reduce the weight of its energy needs on the bill? Especially for small preparations, it is better to opt for faster and more sustainable cooking methods that do not necessarily involve frying: steaming or cooking in foil, but also grilling, are healthy and less energy-consuming modes.

Another solution to expensive bills is represented by the air fryer. The air fryer is a new and interesting appliance that has become extremely popular for some years now: it allows you to cook food in a tasty way (as if it were frying) and at the same time healthy, using a very small amount of fat. ; in addition, cooking in a deep fryer is much faster than cooking in a normal oven.

The fast cooking times and its small size make the air fryer an advantageous alternative to the oven to prepare food without wasting too much electricity: in fact, although the energy consumption of an electric oven and a common deep fryer are almost the same (between 500 and 1.200 W / h), the times of use of the two appliances are very different and using the fryer allows us to save energy (and money).

The air fryer has very small dimensions, and this represents both an advantage (it can also be present in very small kitchens and can be transported easily) and a limit: the too small basket is unsuitable for cooking large quantities of food, which necessarily require the use of the oven. So we can conclude that the air fryer is worthwhile if we don't have to cook for many people. If we must necessarily use the oven, we can choose the ventilated cooking mode: food preparation times will be faster and this will still save energy.
