The new wind farm purchased by the Mountain View giant could be fully operational next year. Developed by Chermac Energy, a small American-owned company based in Oklahoma, the wind farm Happy Hereford it will supply 240 MW of power to Power Pool Southwest (SPP), the regional grid serving Mayes County, Google's Oklahoma data center.

“As part of our quest to power our operations with the 100% renewable energy, we have agreed to purchase the entire wind farm of Happy Hereford, 240 MW, Texas. This represents our fifth long-term agreement and our greatest commitment; we have just signed a contract for more than 570 MW of wind energy, enough energy to power approximately 170.000 US households " explains on the blog.
