For repopulate and give new life to Ururi, a small village in the lower Molise, its mayor Antonio Cocco has instituted a unique incentive on rents, allocating part of the funds that will arrive in the coffers of the administration from construction of the wind farm just approved, for the payment of the rent to all families who want to move to Ururi and keep company with the current 3580 residents.
Through this operation, in short, the Mayor wants fight the depopulation of the area providing the possibility to pay only part of the rent to the new inhabitants. The remainder will be paid by the Municipality and financed, in fact, with the proceeds of the wind farm that will serve to revive the economy of the South Molise area and to re-evaluate the territory by encouraging families who live in the nearby town of Termoli to move to the small town.
Scheduled for next year, the park, consisting of 13 wind turbines, will be carried out by the company Andromeda Wind and will contribute to the energy revaluation of the area also from the point of view of mobility, as the installation of the underground cable duct which will connect the wind poles of San Martino in Pensilis and Ururi with the substation Enel of Larino, it will be accompanied by interventions on the roads.
Sorgenia, the company that financed the project and was in charge of the works, the same company that manages the plant Turbogas of Termoli, in fact, it will also take care of the improvements to the roads, in particular that in provincial roads 167 and 40 with road widening, rectification of two curves and the restoration of the entire road site even in the sections not affected by the installation of cable ducts.
In short, a sort of compensation for the inconveniences that the population will have to face also from the point of view of environmental impact. What is feared is the danger of "wild" wind: “The area chosen for this plant is very impactful, we would have preferred another place - says Mayor Cocco - Among other things, we are already surrounded by other wind farms in other countries such as Rotello, Montorio and Montelongo. I must also say, however, that we will have undoubted advantages from the Sorgenia park “.
Starting from the economic one, being the refreshment provided for the Municipality of Ururi equal to eighty thousand euros a year. In addition to the rent for new citizens, these funds will be used mainly for the social, assures the mayor, and used in the construction of sports facilities for young people, cycle paths and a series of services for the elderly.
