Just in these days Toshio Suzuki, designer and former president of Studio Ghibli, has put a tutorial online on YouTube to teach how to best make this beloved character. The video lesson was intended for children in his city, Nagoya; but - it was to be expected - in a very short time the movie went around the world, becoming viral.

Suzuki begins, first sketching the outline of the funny character, reminiscent of a fusion between a cat, an owl and a raccoon.
