The waste turns into murals thanks to the street artist Bordalo, known in the art world as Bordalo II. All the urban materials destined for the landfill have become wonderful animals that can be found on the streets of Portugal and beyond.
From Lisbon to several American, German, Spanish and even Estonian and Norwegian cities. Again in Thaiti and Thailand, without forgetting that the incredible creatures arrived a few years ago even in Turin with the solo show entitled 'Decomposed'.
Car bumpers, tires and even electrical cables and any other urban waste are used for the silhouettes of huge animals which are then decorated with paint. Bordalo's goal is to raise awareness on pollution and the environmental degradation which inevitably ends up destroying the habitat of animals.
There are birds, bees, fish, various mammals made of reuse and assembly, the result is truly extraordinary. Bordalo is therefore not only an artist but also an activist who places the accent on environmental issues reminding the whole world that the planet needs help.
Look how wonderful:
