230 works that have conquered impressionists and post-impressionists where nature is the protagonist. On display, there will not only be original drawings, but also the still intact printing matrices.
Hiroshige, one of the most famous artists of the floating world (ukiyoe) has been imitated by numerous artists of the nineteenth century, we recall that also Van Gogh he had such a passion for his landscape prints that he reproduced some of them in his paintings. For example the famous “Ohashi Bridge in the downpour”.
Already defined as the master of nature, the Japanese painter and engraver with his paintings has always contemplated and expressed natural phenomena in a harmonious way. From snow storms to the waves of the sea, the peculiarity of his gaze has always bewitched the visitor, giving serenity.
Among the works on display at the Stables are “One hundred views of the capital of Edo” and “Fifty-three post stations of Tokaido”, but also images of animals, flowers and insects.
