In developing countries, millions of people do not have at their disposal the right tools for heating of your home or for the cooking food, a lack that every year unfortunately causes domestic accidents and numerous deaths, due to the use of fires not carefully repaired. For this reason, a group of Indian students decided to commit to finding a solution.

Greenway Grameen Infra, a young Indian srart-up born under the guidance of a group of students, has created a product that is already attracting the attention of her country of birth. It is about Greenway Smart Stove, an efficient kitchen stove capable of generating 80% less smoke and consuming 65% less fuel than the solutions used so far in India.

The invention recently received a $ 50 prize on the occasion ofIntel Global Challenge, an event dedicated to new tools designed to bring about social improvements. The stove is equipped with an air generator which allows a clean combustion. According to the creators, the stove works better than any of its electrical counterparts and can be powered using biomass such as wood and agricultural waste.

Thanks to the prize received, the new stove will be able to reach the Indian market as soon as possible. The start-up is also already working on a next stove model, which will be thermoelectric and which can definitively replace the more dangerous models, but currently in common use. The use of Greenway Smart Stove, to replace the tools currently in use, built in stone and raw earth, would cause the saving di 1600 kg of timber every year. The emissions of greenhouse gases would fall by 2 tons per year.

The new stove can be used for numerous types of cooking, does not require to be connected to the mains, it makes use of natural fuels, has been designed to avoid any risk of fire and has a high thermal efficiency, with lower CO2 emissions. Greenway Smart Stove is now part of India's first program for modern and safer stoves.
