But Gil Tompson was so attached to his presence in the garden that she decided to save him, turning it into a real one artwork. The man is a professional wood carver, who has managed to bring out unexpected shapes from the trunk of the tree.
Tompson wanted to proceed as a real sculptor, imagining being in front of a block of marble. It was enough to proceed little by little incarving wood to turn it into a precious one decoration for the garden. The tree was unfortunately now dead due to a ' cockroach infestation.
Thanks to his skill as a carver, Tompson was able to proceed with the execution of the work using the tools of the trade: saws, pliers and tools for chiseling. The carving work had a very simple beginning and he avoided in a short time that the tree was cut down and turned into firewood.
First he removed the parts of the tree that would not have been used for the completion of the work. Then he gradually started his own carving works, starting with the realization of a rather coarse shape. Proceeding in the woodworking, he began to glimpse the shapes to emerge from the trunk.
Hour after hour the tree trunk was able to take on an increasingly pleasant shape. The removal of part of the bark allowed to work directly on the live wood, which revealed wonderful streaks and shades of color. The tree has turned into a real sculpture and now makes a fine show of itself in the property of Palm harbor.
From the trunk and branches some wonderful ones emerged aquatic creatures. The sculpted animals are very realistic and rich in detail. In completing his work, the wood artist has shown that he has a talent out of the ordinary. In fact, it is not for everyone to be able to see the beauty in a tree trunk to be cut down and decide to commit to making it emerge in all its splendor. Now the tree can be admired for years on the artist's property.
