ConferenceBike: meetings are made by pedaling

Enough with the usual meetings, in the old and boring conference room. In this period of cuts we should give a clear cut to past habits: for example, from today we could do an interesting and creative brainstorming on a beautiful sunny day, perhaps cycling in our favorite city park.

Enough with the usual meetings, in the old and boring room conferences. In this period of cuts, we should give a clear cut to past habits: for example, from today we could make an interesting and creative brainstorming on a beautiful sunny day, perhaps cycling in our favorite city park.

This must have been partly the thought of the American artist Eric Staller, creator of the ConferenceBike, the innovative as well as unusual bicycle designed to accommodate seven passengers.

La ConferencesBike, also known as Co-Bi, is the evolution of the work of art EIGHTH of 1991, which created such interest as to induce Staller to develop a product. “I realized that OCTOS had such strength that it went far beyond the artwork! It was something that could be used and enjoyed by all. It was functional and innovative ".

A new way of understanding the bicycle and of conceiving the interaction between people, perhaps this is the secret of the success of the Co-Bi which is spreading with some success despite its clumsy shapes and certainly not contained dimensions.

Here's how he describes it Brendon Harrington, transportation program manager of the Google giant: “Imagine that there is a person sitting in a central position, slightly leaning forward and around six other passengers willing to form a circle. And that everyone pedal together, helping to make the bike move. But, since they are facing each other, people can chat with each other, share ideas or if they prefer, they can even have a meeting ”.

Today there are more than 250 Co-Bi scattered around the world and distributed in over 18 countries. Among the happy owners: the Cirque du Soleil, the Google campus, the HKNC (Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults), the Jerusalem Science Museum and many more. To get one you will have to order it at a cost of approx 9.750 € and the waiting time is between two and four weeks.

La ConferencesBike it is therefore a kind of traveling round table with seven seats all completely eco-friendly.
