If we don't improve work environments and don't commit to moving more, we could look bad in twenty years.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

What will the employees of the future? They will most likely look like Emma and will be overweight, hunchbacked, with swollen legs and perpetually red eyes.

Emma is a life size mannequin made to show what office workers and office workers might look like in two decades.

The mannequin was made based on the results of a new report titled "The Work Colleague of The Future", in which a team of health experts led by behavioral futurist William Higham speculated what future employees will look like.

The report was compiled taking into account surveys carried out by over 3000 employees in France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Employees answered several questions investigating them state of health in relation to office work.

The results showed that most of the workers have suffered or are suffering from eye discomfort, back pain, headache, stress-related eczema, overweight and swelling in the lower limbs and varicose veins.

On the basis of the answers given, the report was compiled and the mannequin was built. The authors of the report warn that if we don't apply changes to the work environment and lifestyle we could face a future full of Emma.

È necessario move more, perhaps walking or cycling to work and practicing physical activity once out of the office.

It is also important that workplaces are equipped with chairs and desks that ensure correct posture and that breaks away from the desk are provided, to take a walk, reactivate circulation and oxygenate the body.

If we continue to have one so sedentary lifestyle, our physical appearance and above all our health will be affected.
