Tired of your job? Move to the Maldives to take care of the turtles

Look after the turtles and live 2 weeks in the Maldives. Dream job? No it's all true! Find out how to apply and if you meet all the requirements to participate!

Do you have special experience, love and talent in looking after turtles? If your dream is also to explore the Maldives, here is the job for you. There is time until June 30 to apply for a two-week internship in a dream place.

The Marine Turtle Rescue Sanctuary at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu Resort in Baa Atoll is looking for a volunteer to take care of the turtles that live there. It is in this center, in fact, that they need an intern able to take care of local turtles, alongside expert veterinarians, and who will have to tell the experience through Instagram.

In particular, the volunteer will be required to:

    • feed the turtles
    • clean the collection tanks
    • observe surgery and medical procedures
    • participate in rescue missions to collect turtles in distress
    • assist with the release of rehabilitated turtles into the ocean
    • interact with guests who visit the center by giving them information about the turtles staying in the center
    • post on the Olive Ridley Project's social media platforms, to update progress and show behind the scenes of the rescue center.

The requirements are the age of majority, knowing how to swim and a strong passion for sea turtles. This volunteer program is ideally suited for those looking to learn more about sea turtle medicine and first aid and to experience what it takes to work with these animals in the wild.

The announcement also informs that volunteers are required to make a donation to cover travel, food, accommodation and contribute to the financing of the operation of the rescue center:

    • 2 weeks: $ 1,385 per person
    • 3 weeks: $ 1,985 per person
    • 4 weeks: $ 2,185 per person

To participate in the selection, you must register on the website Coco Collection, by June 30th. Candidates must send a video or a letter of introduction indicating the reasons that push them to want to live this experience.
