Organic Pak: eco-friendly, recyclable and ... design take-away containers

Some students of the European Institute of Design have devised new food containers suitable for both cooking and eating meals. These are disposable containers and tableware that will not be abandoned among unsorted waste, but that can be recycled, being mainly made up of paper, aluminum and compostable materials. The project, which takes the name of Organic Pack, promises to revolutionize our relationship with the lunch break.

Some students ofEuropean Institute of Design have devised new food containers suitable to be used both for cooking and for the consumption of meals. It is about containers e disposable tableware ideal for the take-away that will not be abandoned among the unsorted waste, but which can be recycled, being mainly made up of paper, aluminum and compostable materials. The project, which takes the name ofOrganic Pack, promises to revolutionize our relationship with lunch break.

The desire to eat meals away from home in the name of sustainability and quality food it becomes more and more frequent in those who are not normally found at home at lunch or dinner time. In such cases, the ideal would be to make sure that you carry pre-prepared meals with you every day, preferably inside reusable containers or recyclable. However, not everyone has the opportunity to be able to reheating your meal in the workplace and often this lack pushes us to orient ourselves towards the consumption of a lunch that is as fast as it is repetitive and expensive, sitting at the counter of the first restaurant that can be glimpsed hungry.

Thanks to the new food containers born from the minds of Matteo Vilardo, Luke Hornung e Caterina Gobbi, each of us may soon find ourselves choosing between three different solutions for consuming their meals away from home, according to their needs, opting for one or more of the three different products made from entirely recycled materials and 100% recyclable.

Upside down is an example of a pack capable of containing a single-portion meal, which can be heated on various types of hobs (gas, electric, glass or ceramic) and which can easily be transformed into a serving dish. The materials that compose it, exclusively paper and aluminum, can be easily separated to be destined for separate collection.

Heat & Eat Pack it contains a single portion that can be heated wherever you are, thanks to a thermal reaction that takes place in the same container after pressing the lid. What differentiates it from similar products already on the market is the fact that it consists only of aluminum, to be thrown into the appropriate bin, and from “paper pulp”, biodegradable material intended for the waste bin.

Pop Up Pan on the other hand, it is a package that includes foldable aluminum containers that are easily transportable and usable as needed as cooking pans. They too are naturally recyclable and made taking into consideration the entire life cycle of the product, from its assembly to its disposal.

Their eventual use should be, in our opinion, coherently inserted within a cycle of good practice to be transformed into daily habits. The use of disposable containers, although recyclable, should be accompanied by the use of reusable cutlery, Of afolding glass to always carry with you, a bottle to fill directly with the very good and cheap one tap water and from placemats e cloth napkins old style. This would be the best way to transform yourself into an example of eco-sustainability to follow and imitate.
