The framed portrait of a black silhouette and a candle whose flame burns the American flag. Like this Banksy, mysterious English artist considered one of the greatest exponents of street art, has decided to demonstrate his own will support the Black Lives Matter movement, during an international day of protest for the murder of African American George Floyd.

The work was published yesterday by the artist himself on his Instagram profile with a message:

“At first I thought I should keep quiet and listen to people of color on the matter.
But why should I do it? This is not their problem. It's mine.
Black people are ignored by the system. The white system. Like a broken pipe flooding the apartment below. This faulty system makes their life miserable, but fixing it is not their job. They can't, no one will let them into the upstairs apartment.
It's a white problem. And if the whites don't fix it, someone will come upstairs and break down the door, ”Bansky wrote.
