It is located in Hisham Palace, an Islamic castle in Jericho, Palestine, dating back to the XNUMXth century AD.
An exceptional work: the vast and ancient mosaic covers 836 square meters and, together with the Hisham Palace that houses it, was built during the reign of the Umayyads, a Muslim dynasty that reigned from 660 to 750 AD. The palace, in particular, was the winter residence of the caliph Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, who was on the throne from 724 to 743 AD.
